Assistant Barista / General Help

Job Summary

Join our Cat Café team as an Assistant Barista / General Help, supporting daily operations in a fun, fast-paced, and cat-filled environment. In this role, you’ll assist baristas, help maintain a clean and welcoming space, and ensure both guests and cats have a safe and enjoyable experience. This is a great entry-level opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, loves cats, and wants to gain experience in a café setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist baristas with drink preparation, restocking, and basic café tasks.

• Prepare simple food items such as sandwiches, pastries, and light snacks.

• Greet guests, help with order flow, and maintain a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

• Bus tables, wash dishes, and keep café and seating areas clean and organized.

• Help maintain cleanliness in cat areas while following all sanitation and safety guidelines.

• Monitor guest interactions with cats and gently reinforce café rules to ensure a safe environment.

• Assist with basic cat care tasks as directed (e.g., refreshing water, tidying shared spaces, alerting staff to concerns).

• Restock supplies such as cups, lids, napkins, and ingredients throughout shifts.

• Support opening and closing duties, including cleaning and setup.

• Take direction from baristas and management to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Interest in coffee, food service, or hospitality (no prior barista experience required).

• Comfortable working around cats and supportive of animal welfare.

• Friendly, approachable attitude with strong customer service skills.

• Willingness to learn and take direction in a team environment.

• Ability to stay organized and keep up in a fast-paced setting.

• Basic math skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to follow cleanliness, food safety, and cat café-specific guidelines.

• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
